Periodic inspections for moped cars and ATVs
Heavy four-wheeled L7e-class vehicles must be inspected for the first time no later than four years after the date when the vehicle was taken into use. Thereafter, no later than two years after the last inspection. When more than 10 years have passed since the vehicle was taken into use, it must be inspected annually (at the latest one year after the last inspection).
Four-wheeled L6e-class vehicles must be inspected for the first time no later than three years after the date when the vehicle was taken into use. Thereafter, no later than two years after the last inspection. Thereafter annually (at the latest one year after the last inspection).
You can have a periodic inspection carried out on your moped car or ATV at any of our stations.
The following points are covered during the inspection:
- axle mountings, wheels, suspension
- braking system
- vehicle identification details (e.g. serial number, registration number)
- electrical equipment, lights
- chassis, bodywork
- steering equipment and controls
- visibility (e.g. windscreen, windscreen cleaning equipment, mirrors)
- environmental impact of the vehicle (e.g. noise, fluid leaks)
- exhaust gas measurement (exhaust gas measurements for petrol cars apply to cars taken into use in 1978 and after)
- smoke measurement (diesel cars taken into use after 1 January 1980 are subject to smoke measurements).
