Caravan and Trailer Inspection

We also inspect trailers and caravans.

• O1-class trailers (light trailers with a total mass of less than 750 kg) do not require periodic inspection at all.
• O2-class trailers (total mass 751-3,500 kg) must be inspected for the first time by the end of the calendar year in which two years have elapsed from the date of entry into service. This category also includes travel and boat trailers.
• O3-class vehicles have a total mass greater than 3.5 tonnes but not exceeding 10 tonnes. O3-class inspections are carried out at stations where we service heavy vehicles.
• O4-class vehicles have a total mass greater than 10 tonnes. O4 inspections are carried out at stations where we service heavy vehicles.
• R-class vehicles are tractor trailers intended for the transport of goods.

For example, an O2-class trailer with a date of entry into service of 15 May 2014 in its registration certificate must undergo its first inspection by 1 January. – 31.12.2016.

After this, the trailer must be inspected every two years by the end of the calendar year.
