Rally Car Inspection
Plus Katsastus is a 100% Finnish vehicle inspection station chain operating throughout Finland with over 70 stations.
Rally Car Inspection
Tax-exempt competition vehicles used in rally competitions (equipped with so-called transfer stickers) must undergo road traffic inspection before their first competition. Additionally, all V1600 class vehicles must undergo road traffic inspection. Tax-exempt navigational rally vehicles must also undergo road traffic inspection.
Transfer stickers may only be used in rally competitions if the vehicle is tax-exempt, i.e., the vehicle has either been cleared through customs for racing use or removed from the register due to tax consequences. In such cases, proof must be provided in the form of either customs documentation (if the vehicle was imported from outside the EU) or a copy of the change of use notification submitted to the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom. The aforementioned documents and the inspection card issued by AKK must be brought to the inspection, as well as the vehicle’s classification certificate.
The inspection focuses on the vehicle’s road traffic safety, inspection of modified parts/structures, and safety equipment. An approved inspection is recorded on the vehicle’s inspection card. The inspection stamp entered on the inspection card is valid for one year. Additionally, an inspection certificate is issued, which must be presented to the competition organizer upon request.
The vehicle must be presented for inspection with TLA-compliant transfer tires and without underbody armor/protection.
Inspections are performed only by inspection facilities and personnel approved by AKK, whose contact information is provided below. The inspection fee is 70 euros and the re-inspection fee is 20 euros. If the vehicle’s support arms are not original to the vehicle, a certificate of manufacture must be provided, certifying that the parts are factory-manufactured parts belonging to the vehicle.
If the vehicle’s regular Finnish road traffic inspection is still valid (removal from the register occurred during the validity period of the inspection), this special inspection does not need to be performed during the validity period of the inspection.
